On March 7, 2021, Puerto Rico relocated their data to another link. To allow our data quality team time to investigate this source, we did not update their data on March 7, 2021. We're backfilling their data for March 7, 2021, from screenshots of their new dashboard and their COVID-19 report from the day.

On October 1, 2020, we received a press release from Dept. de Salud with updated Total PCR tests (specimens), Negative PCR tests (specimens), and Positive PCR tests (specimens) for Puerto Rico dating back to August 28, 2020. We backfilled these values from August 28, 2020 through September 30, 2020, however due to an error in the backfill process, we did not begin capturing these new values on subsequent dates. On February 11, 2021, we corrected this error and backfilled our timeseries of Total PCR tests (specimens), Negative PCR tests (specimens), and Positive PCR tests (specimens) for October 1, 2020 through February 10, 2020 with the values from the August 28, 2020 press release.

On December 20, 2020, Puerto Rico's **Recovered** value decreased by about 500 with no explanation. We have previously noted that this occurs sometimes for this metric, probably because of deduplication or data clearning.

On November 14, 2020, Puerto Rico reported a 210 decrease in their Recovered metric. Puerto Rico’s Recovered numbers occasionally decreases without explanation. We suspect this is due to some sort of data quality assurance or de-deduplication.

PR is changing probable case reporting to reflect antigen instead of antibody reporting, moving to report antibody in a suspected category. Probable cases have dropped to 77. To avoid the appearance of a ~33,000 case drop today nationally and to reflect most up to date CSTE August definition, we are removing cases identified via antibody from PR's historical Positive field.
Note: There is a perceived drop on April 24, 2020, as the timeseries transitions from date of report, to this backfill.

PR - Because of a new connection to electronically link one of the systems which manages the information used by the clinical labs to the BioPortal, PR's 10/23 report includes a breakdown of updated information for our positiveCasesViral and positiveTestsAntibody metrics.
10/23:
30,956 positiveCasesViral. This number includes 43 added cases with Test-Taking Dates 7/25 - 10/9 and 5 duplicate cases subtracted.
30,028 positiveTestsAntibody. This number includes 878 additional probable cases with understood Test-Taking Dates from 10/10 - 10/20. It also accounts for 105 probable cases which were subtracted after having a positive PCR test result. Also included in this number are 28 additional cases with Test-Taking Dates from 4/22 - 10/9 and 6 subtracted duplicate cases.

We got another of PR's sporadic PCR testing updates, letting us know about a large number of new tests (~50K) as of 7/23 (for reference, our last data point for the PCR columns was 7/9). In applying this update, I discovered the negatives and PCR test columns were wrong starting on 7/11 due to a miscommunication with data entry after the 7/9 backfill, so I also fixed these rows. So the adjusted rows run from 7/11 to 7/24, with a net increase of ~115K tests over the previous baseline.
