On March 6, 2021, South Carolina’s data on individuals with symptom onset data decreased by roughly 31,000 without explanation. As a result, their Recovered, which is calculated as individuals with symptom onset data multiplied by the percentage of these cases which are recovered, decreased by about 12,000.

On 9/15, South Carolina started reporting antigen testing data, reporting 7,763 positive tests and 23,477 total tests. The “viral (i.e. molecular/PCR) tests” positives, negatives, and totals dropped by about the same amount, likely due to the removal of this data.

Note on SC website reads: "Since Wednesday, July 22, hospitals have actively been making a transition to a new federal reporting system for providing bed occupancy and other important information. Hospitalization issues with SC have been occurring since 7/18. On 7/27, we froze the curr. hosp., cum. hosp., and curr. ventilator values until further update and until SC can adapt to HHS changes.
