Illinois : Long-term care notes

Illinois reports long-term care COVID-19 data for Long-Term Care Facilities. CTP puts Long-Term Care facilities data in Lumped or other categories in our dataset. Illinois reports cumulative and outbreak data. Illinois provides facility-level data. Illinois lumps staff and resident cases together and staff and resident deaths together. Data is cumulative since April 17, 2020.    Illinois provides cumulative totals for resident and staff cases and resident and staff deaths.   Illinois provides outbreak data for resident and staff cases and resident and staff deaths and number of facilities with a case. Illinois defines an outbreak as a facility with case(s) in the past 28 days. An outbreak ends when 28 days have passed with no new confirmed case.   Illinois’ facility data often drops deaths from the totals. Please use caution when approaching IL’s facility data and see changes by date for largest drops.

• November 26, 2020: CTP was not able to gather outbreak data. Data is carried over from the previous week.
• October 22, 2021: Number of deaths at facilities decreased by 637.
• February 11, 2021: Number of deaths at facilities decreased by 2,801.    State source resident and staff cases and deaths and number of facilities with a case can be found on the Illinois Department of Health page.

The state provides facility-level cumulative data. The state provides facility-level outbreak data. Cumulative facility-level data was first reported by the state on 2020-04-23. Outbreak facility-level data was first reported by the state on 2020-04-23.
