We'd also draw your attention to a cluster of southern states that are undertested, but have rising case loads, especially on a per-capita basis: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi. https://t.co/7yChSLGK6x

@JChomilo We agree it should be included. We have seen it nowhere outside Arkansas and a few counties.

One unusual situation: Mississippi testing is ~slowing~ as the state re-opens.

(For comparison, see neighboring states like Alabama, Tennessee, and Arkansas.) https://t.co/aHf8wia9sD

The same is true in South Carolina, North Carolina, Arkansas, and Kentucky. https://t.co/7PcHgg1gvW

States reported over 23k new cases today. That's within the range we've seen over the last month.

Here are four states—Texas, Arizona, North Carolina, and Arkansas—that had worrisome numbers today.

(Arizona's data dashboard crashed today, so we don't have a full set of their numbers. But we were able to capture these two metrics.) https://t.co/NDEfzp9cjn

Our daily update is published. Six states (AR/CT/KS/KY/NH/RI) did not report by our publish time today. Based on past numbers, it looks like many more states reduced testing and reporting over the holiday weekend.

42.5K new cases today. 654K new tests. 209 deaths reported. https://t.co/gqOJHAKu5u

Florida didn't just break the record for reported cases. It also shattered the mark for cases per million population. New York, at peak, hit 595. Today, Florida reported 712 cases per million. Arkansas also entered the 500+ tier, where we've only seen FL, AZ, and LA. https://t.co/KeQmHMA9as

Today, ID is back, but we’re missing hospitalization updates from states including AL, AR, CT, IA, LA, MI, MO, MS, NH, OR, RI, SC, and WY. Some due to the new HHS directive, others because it’s the weekend.

We will keep reporting on the availability of this data.

Populous states can generate large case counts, but if you look at the new cases per million today, 9 smaller states are showing more cases per million than California or Texas: AL, AR, ID, KS, KY, LA, MS, NV, and SC. https://t.co/1pYW6cWRaS

The increase in deaths is due to a backlogged addition of probable deaths in Arkansas. The state reported 147 COVID-19 deaths today, a noticeable uptick. We hope to see a backfilled time series moving forward.

Update for our data users - we continued to implement changes to our original totalTestResults API field, resulting in a ~600k cumulative test increase since March.

We updated test totals for 14 states: AK, AL, AR, AS, CA, DC, GA, ID, KY, MN, NH, SD, VA, and WA.

October 13, 2020, 4:33 PM PDT

It’s important to note that, sadly, our numbers are an undercount since not all states have been reporting data in the past few days. Both Missouri and Washington haven't updated any numbers since October 10. Arkansas also missed today's update.

November 1, 2020, 5:05 PM PST

Today, Arkansas did not update any of its metrics except for hospitalization figures. In addition, Minnesota has not updated its hospitalizations and ICU figures since Thursday.

December 3, 2020, 4:54 PM PST

Zooming into the state level, more than 10 states broke case records today: AK, AR, AZ, DE, IN, MA, ME, NJ, PA, RI, and VT. Note: AZ had a higher count on Dec. 1, but it was a data backlog. https://t.co/ao6T6EQxiH

At publish time, we had no updates from 7 of the 56 states and territories we track: AR, CT, KS, MI, MP, RI, and WA. Seven additional states did not report current hospitalizations today: HI, MN, MS, NV, OK, OR, and WI.
