Starting 9/3 Arkansas started providing the information about Total Antigen Tests, Positive Antigen Tests, and Negative Antigen Tests and some more values for some ranges going back to 7/31. This is to backfill the information from 7/31 onward.

September 3, 2020 to September 7, 2020

Variables affected:

On September 3, 2020, Arkansas began reporting probable cases according to the most recent CSTE definitions, in addition to confirmed cases, adding 423 new cases. It also began reporting total, positive and negative antigen testing volume. Annotations have been updated to reflect.

September 5, 2020 to September 6, 2020

Variables affected:

AR has started publishing a daily pdf which includes data for pos, neg, and total antigen tests as confirmed, probable, and total cases. The pdf also includes an "as of" timestamp. We should start collection the data points mentioned above using data from the pdf, which includes backfilling data for 9/5, 9/6, and other days when the pdf was published but the old process was used.

August 3, 2020

Variables affected:

AR started including a table with their slides. The table includes antigen pos and neg.

August 31, 2020

Variables affected:

On 8/31, “Over 11,300 negative tests added to database due to a commercial lab that was not reporting all negative tests.” The state reported 665,811 negative tests today, an increase of 13,980 from what we captured yesterday.

August 15, 2020 to August 25, 2020

Variables affected:

AR shared a value for its total number of antigens verbally in a presser on 8/20 (10,358: see 2:33 in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cqwYiMx7EY) significantly higher than what we found on the slides they post on their website a few days later on 8/25 (3,610 tests in https://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/images/uploads/pdf/briefing_slides_8_25.pdf). We have conducted outreach to ask why this discrepancy exists and for a full time series of the metric. In the mean time we are carrying over the old value (1836) from 8/20-8/24 and using 3,610 from 8/25 onward.

August 25, 2020

Variables affected:

On 8/25, AR moved all of their reports to this page: We now use this link to get antigen test numbers and reports: https://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programs-services/topics/covid-19-reports

March 6, 2020 to July 3, 2020

Variables affected:

AR reports total tests in unclear units. Prior to 7/3 CTP captured them in the "people" column. This moves the whole time series to "Total Tests (PCR)" column to indicate that we are unlear on the units. Outreach to AR will be performed

August 15, 2020

August 11, 2020

Variables affected:

On 8/11, we decided to begin copying over Negative (People or Cases) values into the Negative Tests (PCR) column. AR reports negative tests as specimens, but due to the staggered transition to a state by state methodology that eliminates fakery, we are choosing to record the negative test values in both columns for now.

March 6, 2020 to April 28, 2020

Variables affected:

On July 20, 2020, we updated Positive Cases (PCR) for Arkansas, for dates before April 28, 2020, copying them from positive since the state was reporting only confirmed cases.
