Backfilling Texas's Currently in ICU metric from April 11, 2020 to August 2, 2020 to extend the time series and also backfill the end of July when Texas was reporting incomplete data due to the HHS hospital reporting switchover.

On February 15, 2021 through February 17, 2021, they could not update their testing data due to outages. As a result, we were unable to update their testing data on these dates. We urge caution when interpreting data from this period.

As the backlogged test results are added to the electronic reporting system, some counties are receiving notification of COVID positive results that were previously diagnosed but not reported to the local health department at the time the test was completed. For this reason, the statewide confirmed case counts and some county case counts will include some older cases over the next few days. DSHS works daily with laboratories to facilitate reporting to ensure local jurisdictions receive timely laboratory reports. Patients were notified at the time of diagnosis through a separate process."

On 8/10, TX site annotation read, "New case counts for Nueces County will not be posted on August 10. The Nueces County – Corpus Christi Public Health District received a large backlog of positive lab reports that they are working through to ensure that no duplicate or probable cases are reported in their confirmed case counts. Nueces County data will be posted tomorrow."

TX started reporting Total and Positive Antigen tests on 8/7 just after pub shift; 8/7 and 8/8 data were added to the spreadsheet later on 8/8; source notes added, annotation sheet updated. As the antigen numbers are not public no public note added, but date added to the log so we have a record if we want to add a note later.

We found an unexplained gap in our Positive Cases (PCR) from 7/29-7/30. Filled in by copying over the 'positive' column because TX 'does not include probable cases.'

On 8/2 in TX - ICU spreadsheet reported the icu number as 6230, but the sum of all of the values given is 3115 so they somehow doubled it. We carried over yesterday's number (3117), since the difference is so small and no other TX data was updated today

On July 30, 2020, Texas noted that "Cumulative fatalities have been corrected for July 27–29. As DSHS shifted to using death certificate data to count fatalities this week, an automation error caused approximately 225 fatalities to be included that did not have COVID-19 listed as a direct cause of death."

On 7/23 Texas reported that its current hospitalization and ICU numbers are incomplete due to its transition to the HHS reporting system, so we froze the values. On 7/28, we unfroze the values. We will backfill the complete numbers for July 23 - July 28 when reporting is back at 100%.
