Texas reports long-term care data for Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities.
Texas reports cumulative and outbreak data. CTP puts Nursing Home data in the Nursing Home category and Assisted Living in the Assisted Living category. Texas does provide facility level data for Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities. Texas reports resident cases and resident deaths separately. Texas does not report staff cases or deaths. Texas provides cumulative totals for resident cases and resident deaths and number of facilities with a case. Texas provides outbreak totals for resident cases and number of facilities with a case. Texas defines an outbreak as a facility with 1 or more cases in a facility. All Texas data is self-reported by the facility to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). Texas facility-level data reporting usually lags behind 1-3 weeks. The release of facility-level data by Texas is typically delayed by two weeks.

Facility notes
The state provides facility-level cumulative data. The state provides facility-level outbreak data. Cumulative facility-level data was first reported by the state on 2020-08-20. Outbreak facility-level data was first reported by the state on 2020-08-20.
Because each state reports facility-level data differently, CTP has produced a number of scripts to make the dataset as standardized and comprehensive as possible.
