New York City reports **Deaths (probable)** from COVID-19 that New York State does not include in its data reporting. Because we collect state data, not city or county data, these New York City probable deaths from COVID-19 are not included in our dataset. The total number of deaths from COVID-19 for New York State reported by the CDC is significantly larger than the total number of deaths from COVID-19 reported by New York State.

On December 28, 2020, we cleared the history of New York's Confirmed Cases (PCR) field. We appear to have stored New York's cases count in our Confirmed Cases (PCR) field in addition to our Positive field because New York calls these cases "Total Tested Positive." However, we don't seem to have had sufficient evidence for this classification. "Positive" could have been antigen or antibody positive. Moreover, according to reporting by Kaiser Health News and The New York Times from the past few months, New York state includes antigen testing results in both its positive and total test counts.
