Question

We noticed that Connecticut has stopped including cumulative figures in its “Resident and Staff Impact in CT Nursing Homes.” Could you tell us why the state has decided to stop publishing the cumulative totals on Nursing Homes cases?

Answer

Answered by

We have moved our historical COVID-19 data to the Connecticut Open Data Portal: https://data.ct.gov/stories/s/COVID-19-data/wa3g-tfvc/ We are changing our daily updates to focus on recent COVID-19 cases and identifying possible outbreaks. Starting this week, we have switched from our old system for collecting nursing home data to using NHSN data. This way nursing homes do not have to report data to the state and to CDC. https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/Nursing-Homes-and-Assisted-Living-Facilities
